María Celeste currently works as a lawyer for Coronel & Pérez. Her experience mainly involves academic and professional matters in civil, commercial, procedural, corporate and administrative matters.

Career

During her university years, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Faculty of Jurisprudence, Social and Political Sciences of the Universidad Católica de Santiago de Guayaquil (UCSG), where she held the position of Delegate and Student Representative of the Law and Social Work degree. In addition, she was part of the Arbitration Team of the University and was a teaching assistant for the Fundamentals of Law subject.

Before joining our firm, she gained professional experience in various public and private sector institutions. In 2015, she worked as a judicial assistant in a civil court in Guayaquil; in 2016, she was a legal assistant in the Legal Sponsorship Department of the State Attorney General's Office; in 2017, she was a paralegal at the Romero Menéndez Law Firm; in 2018, she worked as a paralegal for the Baquerizo Amador Real Estate Group. Later in 2019, she was a legal assistant in the Legal Sponsorship and Contractual Procedures departments of the National Electricity Corporation. In 2020, she was secretary of review resources of the National Legal Directorate of the National Customs Service of Ecuador and, once she graduated as a lawyer, from the end of 2020 to the beginning of 2022, she was the Resolution Commissioner of the Directorate of Justice and Surveillance of the Daule Municipality.

In the academic field, she has taken several courses taught by the IDE Business School, Legal Editions, International Chamber of Commerce, Harvard University, the National Autonomous Decentralized University of Mexico, among others.

She interned at the New York Supreme Court alongside the honorable Carmen Velásquez and recently obtained a Master’s Degree in Procedural Law from the University of Espiritu Santo Specialties. Additionally, she works as an assistant professor of Procedural Law at the Universidad Católica Santiago de Guayaquil.
